Experimental film working with methods of conceptual art, concerning issues of anticipation related to the use of audiovisional effects and the machinery of filmproduction itself.

The video consists of a sequence of black and white images, combined with a intense but yet distracting soundscape which reminds of an electrified artificial heartbeat.
This creates a sense of „being in the middle“ of a machine. The piece gives a clear refusal to narration. The dualistic principles of hollywood films, good against evil, heaven against hell, the (american) hero against the rest of the world are transformed into and the most minimal structure of film - the reduction of moving pictures into light and the absence of light.

In it´s form „ohne titel“ reminds of the structural film works by Tony Conrad, Micheal Snow, David Rimmer or Peter Kubelka. But it´s humour pushes it further to a direct commentary on the „big screen but flat story“ tragedies, where high resolution and digital effects try to cover the lack of meaning in Hollywood Productions.

In these 32 seconds filmic abstraction is transformed into selfrepresentation and that makes „ohne titel“ to a congenial, modern „howl for de sade“.
It is a reflection upon the presented media itself, it´s dependencies on it´s conditions of production and presentation as well on the effectiveness of (retinal) events in times of the digital cinema. The experience of this irritating assembly leads inevitably to questions about the visual/ cinematographical apparatus, the proceß of anticipation and it´s negation.
